The Technical Conference of the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), focused on the theme “Best practices to reduce tax evasion within the framework of international taxation,” reached its conclusion on October 27, 2023, in Quito, Ecuador. Over the course of three days, representatives from CIAT member countries, along with prominent international organizations and distinguished guests, gathered to address significant topics related to the central theme.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Mr. Márcio F. Verdi, Executive Secretary of CIAT, who shared his final remarks and expressed CIAT’s gratitude to Ecuador for hosting this important conference.

Following this, the Federal Revenue Service of Brazil extended an invitation as the host country for the 58th General Assembly of CIAT in 2024.

Closing words were delivered by Mr. Francisco Briones, Director General of the Internal Revenue Service (SRI) of Ecuador, who expressed his gratitude to all event participants.
