CIAT Shares Its Perspective on Strategic Human Resources Management at a Leadership and Talent Conference

The Inter-American Center for Tax Administrations (CIAT) participated in the conference “Leadership and Talent Management 2026: Entrepreneurial Transformation,” held on October 15 and 16 in Panama City. The event provided a forum for discussion on the challenges and new practices that are transforming HR management in organizations across Latin America.

On behalf of CIAT, Maureen Pérez, Training Manager, presented the paper titled “Strategic Human Resources Management in Tax Administrations,” incorporating into the discussion the perspective of tax administrations and the importance of talent management for institutional strengthening.

Over the course of the two-day event, experts addressed topics such as attracting talent through artificial intelligence, building organizational culture, change management, the skills of the future, comprehensive compensation, and the use of metrics to guide decision-making.

One of the main messages of the meeting was the need to build a culture that is consistent with day-to-day decisions and behaviors. The presentations highlighted the role of leadership in translating institutional values into observable practices, promoting collaboration, and supporting transformation processes.
