In the framework of the Tax Summit on Digital Economy, on October 23, 2018, a High Level event on BEPS was developed, which was organized by CIAT and the OECD.

The objective of this meeting is to promote a common understanding of the importance of BEPS measures developed in the framework of the BEPS Project, focusing on the role of the tax administrators. In this area, participants had the opportunity to discuss their perspectives on the opportunities and challenges that arise in the implementation of the BEPS measures in their countries. This will allow the identification of actions that help to mobilize greater resources and improve the effectiveness of tax systems.

The welcoming words of the event were given by Mrs. Helena Alves Borges, General Director of the Tax and Customs Authority of Portugal; Mr. Marcio F. Verdi, Executive Secretary of CIAT; and Ms. Grace Perez-Navarro, Deputy Director of the OECD Centre for Tax Policy and Administration. The event was attended by more than 40 Directors from 27 countries (Americas, Africa and Europe) and 5 global organizations (CIAT, OECD, IDB, CREDAF, and ITC).
