On August 26, 2020, CIAT and the Tax Justice Network (TJN) organized a web seminar on “Experiences with registration and verification of information on final beneficiaries”, with the aim of disseminating experiences and tools that will allow Latin American authorities to advance in the definition and implementation of registries or systems to access information on final beneficiaries and consequently identify them. Likewise, support mechanisms and tools for the identification of financial and tax crimes have been discussed.

The event was attended by more than three hundred participants and prominent speakers from organizations with extensive experience in issues related to the main theme of the activity: SES Foundation, Alliance for Open Government, OAS Department against Transnational Organized Crime, Open Ownership, Internal Audit of Uruguay (AIN), FCInet, La Nación Data, Kroll, Transcrime.

The Tax Justice Network and CIAT plan to carry out future joint actions to promote transparency and combat financial crimes and tax crimes.
