On February 14, 2022, the CIAT Executive Secretariat had the honor of receiving the Swiss Ambassador for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Panama, Mr. Gabriele Derighetti, who was attended by Mr. Marcio F. Verdi, CIAT Executive Secretary, CIAT Directors, and the Head of the Spanish Mission to CIAT.

Within the framework of the meeting, discussions were held on CIAT’s structure and operation as well as its main projects. Likewise, a presentation was made on the CIAT-SECO Cooperation Program, which has made possible to support the tax administrations of Guyana, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Bolivia in various areas, such as tax non-compliance risk management, mass controls, transfer pricing, transparency and international exchange of information, taxpayer assistance, control of large companies, tax treaties, taxpayer registration, electronic invoicing, collection processes, among others.

The Ambassador’s visit strengthens the ties between CIAT and the Government of Switzerland.
