On July 9, 2026, Márcio F. Verdi, Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), participated in the General Assembly of the Panama Chapter of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), where he delivered the opening remarks for the meeting

The event brought together officials, experts, and representatives from institutions involved in Panama’s economic, tax, and financial sectors.

The event featured a special appearance by Gloria Lugo, an economist and representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Panama, as well as representatives from the General Directorate of Revenue (DGI) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and judges from the Administrative Tax Court (TAT).

CIAT’s participation in this meeting reaffirms its commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation, promoting knowledge sharing, and fostering opportunities for dialogue on issues of interest to tax administrations and the broaded fiscal community in the region.
