The Executive Secretary of CIAT paid a visit to the Guardia di Finanza of Italy.

On February 19, within the framework of strengthening institutional cooperation and strategic dialogue with member countries, the Executive Secretary of the CIAT, Mr. Márcio Ferreira Verdi, paid a protocol visit to the Guardia di Finanza in Rome, Italy.

During the visit, the Executive Secretary held working meetings with senior authorities of the institution, including Major General Giuseppe Arbore, Chief of Staff of the General Command of the Guardia di Finanza, together with other members of the high command of the Guardia di Finanza.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and analyze opportunities for technical cooperation in areas of common interest, such as combating tax evasion and fraud, international taxation, financial intelligence, and the strengthening of institutional capacities.

Italy, as a member country of CIAT, maintains active participation in its technical cooperation and training initiatives. In this context, the meeting reaffirmed the mutual commitment to continue promoting joint actions that contribute to strengthening tax administrations and developing modern mechanisms for tax control and compliance.

The visit forms part of CIAT’s institutional agenda aimed at consolidating strategic alliances, expanding cooperation with its member countries, and strengthening the Center’s international projection.
