The CIAT Executive Secretariat participated in the 45th CATA Annual Heads Meeting and Technical Conference.

From July 7 to 11, 2025, the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) participated in the 45th Annual Heads Meeting and Technical Conference of the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA), organized by the Internal Revenue Commission (IRC) of Papua New Guinea.
The event brought together tax leaders and experts from over 30 countries, under the theme: “Aligning global standards with local solutions: evolving tax systems in the digital age.”
CIAT was represented by its Executive Secretary, Mr. Márcio F. Verdi, who contributed to the international technical dialogue and shared CIAT’s vision on current tax challenges and new opportunities in the digital era.
CIAT shared this space with institutions such as OECD, IBFD, IMF, World Bank, PITAA and WATAF, promoting interregional cooperation and dialogue.
This meeting marked an important milestone for CATA, as the Meeting of Heads was held for the first time as a separate program from the Technical Conference, allowing for a more specialized and focused participation.
