On May 12, 2026, the 60th CIAT General Assembly opened in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, under the central theme: “Digital Transformation of Tax Administrations.” The event was organized in conjunction with the General Directorate of Internal Revenue of the Dominican Republic and was attended in person by delegations from CIAT member countries, international organizations, and invited countries.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Pedro Porfirio Urrutia, Director of the General Directorate of Internal Revenue of the Dominican Republic, who assumed the presidency of the CIAT Executive Council for the 2026-2027 term, alongside Mr. Márcio F. Verdi, Executive Secretary of CIAT.
