On October 15, 2025, the Meeting of Tax Administrators: opportunities and challenges for CIAT tax administrations, a space for dialogue and technical cooperation that brings together the highest tax authorities of the member countries of the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), was inaugurated at the headquarters of AECID in the city of Montevideo, Eastern Republic of Uruguay. The event will be held from October 15 to 17, 2025.

The activity is developed thanks to the collaboration of the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID), the Institute of Fiscal Studies of Spain (IEF) and the General Tax Directorate of Uruguay (DGI).

The opening ceremony was presided over by the Head of the Spanish Mission, Mr. Mariano Rojo and the opening remarks were made by: Gustavo González Director General of Revenue, General Tax Directorate of Uruguay; Javier Salido Ortíz, Ambassador of Spain in Uruguay, Spain.

Martin Vallcorba, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uruguay.

 The inaugural lecture was presented by the CIAT Executive Secretary, Mr. Márcio F. Verdi.
