In Montevideo, Uruguay from October 31 to November 3, took place the Meeting on the thematic area of Public Finance action line: Enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness and equity of public finances organized by the Spanish Fiscal Studies Institute (IEF in Spanish) and the Planning and Budget office (OPP in Spanish) of the Presidency of the Republic of Uruguay.

This is the first in a series of meetings that are part of the second phase of the EUROsociAL Program which, in cooperation with the consortium led by the International Public Policy Foundation for Ibero America (FIIAPP in Spanish) seeks to contribute to increase social cohesion in Latin America and support national policies aimed to improve levels of social cohesion and strengthen the institutions that carry out these policies.

At this meeting, the CIAT Tax Studies and Research Manager, Miguel Pecho Trigueros presented the topic “CIAT as an instrument for improving public finances and exchanges between Latin America and Europe.”
