This document was prepared by the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service, the Secretaria da Receita Federal do Brasil, with the objective of disseminating its experience related to the use of “Artificial Intelligence for Expedited Decision and Risk Analysis in the Brazilian Federal Administrative Tax Litigation”. It describes how the Brazilian Special Secretariat of Federal Revenue makes use of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to analyze risk in contentious administrative cases, which has made it possible to speed up decisions made when handling litigation.

The strategies disseminated through this working paper are in different stages of development. This experience, in addition to using AI to solve specific problems and to facilitate the flow of information, proposes a systemic change in the way administrative litigation is usually handled. The paper also provides reflections on the future of administrative litigation management.
