CIAT participated in the 82nd edition of ENCAT in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil
July 29–31, 2026, Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. The Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) participated in the 82nd edition of the National Meeting of State Tax Coordinators and Administrators (ENCAT 82), held under the theme “Opportunities and Challenges.”
On behalf of CIAT, Raúl Zambrano, Director of Technical Assistance and Innovation, participated as a special guest in the workshop, during which participants analyzed the main challenges and opportunities facing tax administrations in the areas of digital transformation, data governance, artificial intelligence, and the modernization of tax management processes.

Participants discussed topics related to the strategic use of artificial intelligence and data analysis to strengthen oversight capabilities, data governance as a key element in decision-making, and process automatization to improve the efficiency of tax administrations and taxpayer services
Furthermore, ENCAT 82 provided a forum for analyzing the challenges arising from the implementation of Brazil’s tax reform and the evolution of cooperative compliance models aimed at strengthening the relationship between tax authorities and taxpayers.

CIAT’s participation in this meeting reaffirms its commitment to international cooperation, knowledge sharing, and strengthening more innovative, efficient, and transparent tax administrations.
