CIAT, along with the OECD, CARICOM/COTA, IMF/CARTAC, WBG, and CATA, held a two-day virtual workshop on transfer pricing on 29–30 April 2026, with over 200 participants from tax administration and other government officials from across the Caribbean. The event formed part of the Caribbean Tax Outreach Programme and aimed to strengthen technical capacity in addressing complex international tax issues with focus on transfer pricing.
On the first day of the workshop, CIAT and the OECD presented an overview of transfer pricing implementation trends and challenges in the latin american and carribbean region. Additionally, experts from the IMF CARTAC provided insights into transfer pricing methodologies and their practical use by tax administrations. There was also a session on intra-group services which examined how tax authorities can assess whether such services provide real economic value and how to determine appropriate pricing, including simplified approaches for low-value-adding service administrative approaches, transfer pricing methods, and the treatment of intra-group services.

The second day focused on sector-specific challenges, particularly in tourism and distribution activities, and featured a regional presentations from Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. The discussions highlighted the importance of continued collaboration and knowledge-sharing to strengthen tax systems across the region.
The participants demonstrated their interest in developing skills for controlling international transactions and in learning from their peers.
