CIAT Publishes a Special Review on its 60th General Assembly Held in the Dominican Republic
The Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) presents a special Review on the 60th CIAT General Assembly. This publication brings together the key contributions, experiences, and reflections shared during this major international gathering, held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from May 11 to 15, 2026, with the valuable support of the General Directorate of Internal Revenue (DGII) of the Dominican Republic, the host tax administration.
Under the theme “Digital Transformation of Tax Administrations,” this publication documents the technical sessions, lectures, and panel discussions held during the Assembly, in which representatives from tax administrations and CIAT’s network of strategic partners shared experiences and analyzed the challenges, opportunities, and trends shaping tax administration in an increasingly digital environment.
In addition to providing a summary of the main discussions that took place during the Assembly, the publication includes links to the presentations and technical documents shared by the speakers, making it a valuable reference for professionals, researchers, and tax administration officials.
Among the topics discussed were strategies to strengthen tax compliance, the provision of digital services to taxpayers, and the challenges associated with the digital transformation of tax administrations, including the use of artificial intelligence, data governance, business continuity, and technological infrastructure.
With this publication, CIAT makes available to the international tax community the knowledge, experiences, and best practices shared during this leading institutional forum, reaffirming its commitment to cooperation, innovation, and the strengthening of the tax administrations of its member countries.
