The DGI of Uruguay progresses in the process of improving taxpayer assistance services in the framework of the CIAT-Eurosocial II cooperation program

Involved in a process of improvement of the taxpayer information and assistance services, the Tax General Directorate (DGI) of Uruguay visited the Internal Revenue Service (SII) of Chile, from September 30 to October 2, 2014.

With this exchange visit the DGI seeks to learn, analyze, and adapt to the Uruguayan reality, the best practices and tools implemented by SII, aimed at facilitating tax compliance through different channels (face-to-face, telephone, Web), contributing this way to increase the efficiency levels of the Administration.

This exchange visit has been developed as a result of the requests from beneficiary countries to the II EUROsociAL programme, within the framework of the action “Compliance with the tax obligations” of the Area “Public finance”, coordinated by the FIIAPP, whose operating partners are the AEAT of Spain, the IEF of Spain and CIAT. From now on, CIAT along with the partners of the EUROsociAL II program will follow the advances, claims and interests presented by the administrations benefitting from the program, in order to move forward on new activities of support to voluntary compliance.
