The course “Introduction to Public Management : specialization in Tax Administration” has as main objective to provide managers with the basic training necessary to manage a modern Tax Administration, focused on promoting voluntary compliance. The reinforcement of the managerial function is a crucial element for the development of the Tax Administrations of the region. With this course, various organizations – AECID, IDB, CAPTAC – DR, CIAT, GIZ, and IEF of Spain – join forces to promote the professionalization of the Latin American tax administrations.

The course has had two stages, the first phase was developed in several weeks online, through the campus of the Institute of Fiscal Studies. The second phase, face-to-face, was inaugurated on July 9 in the city of San Jose, Costa Rica, to conclude with various workshops and presentations on july 13.
