My name is Mario Jose Pires Azuaje, of Venezuelan and Portuguese nationalities. Lawyer graduated from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) and Bachelor of Administration from the Santa Maria University (USM). Master in Tax Management at the Metropolitan University (UNIMET), I also have an Advanced Degree in Business Tax Management and Consulting (CENDECO-UNIMET) and an Advanced Degree in Teaching (UJMV).

Former career officer of the Venezuelan Tax Administration – National Integrated Service of Customs and Tax Administration (SENIAT) with more than 17 years of experience in the areas: chief advisor to the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax, Advisor to the National Intendancy of Internal Taxes and operative as Customs and Tax Specialist.

Currently I work as an independent Tax Advisor of different public and private entities, as well as a university professor in several Venezuelan universities and entities in different topics related to taxation.

Currently, I collaborate with the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) as tutor of the Module of Tax Law II of the Diploma in Taxation and with the Course of the CIAT Tax Code Model.
