The Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) participated in the Third Tax Conference: Smart Taxation and the Digital Economy, organized by the Institute of Higher National Studies (IAEN) of Ecuador on November 6 and 7, 2025. The event brought together national and international experts from academia, tax administrations, and international organizations to analyze the challenges and opportunities of digitalization in tax management.

CIAT was represented by Mr. Decio Carretta, CIAT Representative in Brazil, who gave an international presentation entitled “Digital Taxation: A Framework for Strengthening Public Policies and Human Rights.” His presentation addressed how digitalization strategies can strengthen transparency, tax fairness, and the protection of taxpayers’ rights.

CIAT thanks the IAEN for the invitation and congratulates the organizers for this valuable space for academic and technical exchange, which contributes to strengthening tax administrations in the region.
