CIAT participated in the annual meeting of the VITARA program to define strategic actions for 2026

On December 4 and 5, 2025, the annual meeting of the VITARA program was held at the headquarters of the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C., a key forum for evaluating the year’s progress and planning strategic actions for the coming period. This meeting brought together the four founding organizations of the initiative: CIAT, represented by Alejandro Juárez, Director of Human Talent Development for AATTs; the Intra-European Organization for Tax Administration (IOTA); the International Monetary Fund (IMF); and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The VITARA (Virtual Training to Advance Revenue Administration) initiative, launched in 2020, aims to provide high-quality, globally accessible, on-demand virtual training on topics related to public revenue administration. This program complements the training and capacity-building efforts of participating organizations, helping to strengthen tax administrations around the world.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed the achievements made in 2025 and organized actions for the coming year, focusing on expanding the course offering, improving the learning experience, and promoting the participation of more tax administrations in the platform. They also discussed strategies for incorporating new topics that respond to emerging challenges in tax and customs.

CIAT reaffirms its commitment to this initiative, which represents a fundamental tool for the modernization and professionalization of tax administrations, and appreciates the ongoing collaboration with its international partners. Together, we will continue to promote innovation in training and institutional strengthening for the benefit of the region and the world.
