CIAT held the Second Technology Meeting 2026 in the Dominican Republic
As part of the 60th General Assembly of the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, on Friday, May 15, 2026, the Second CIAT Technology Meeting took place—a specialized forum dedicated to analyzing technological advancements and digital transformation in tax administrations.
The event brought together representatives from tax administrations, international organizations, experts, and technology companies to exchange experiences and best practices regarding the use of digital tools, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics in tax administration.
During the event, topics were addressed related to predictive models of tax behavior, digital platforms for taxpayer services, comprehensive electronic services, compliance risk management, and selective and mass audit processes. Additionally, aspects related to technological infrastructure, data governance and standardization, operational continuity in physical and digital environments, as well as the ethical challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence were discussed.

The broad participation of specialized technology companies made it possible to present innovative tools and solutions aimed at strengthening the efficiency, interoperability, and modernization of tax administrations.
The Second CIAT Technology Meeting established itself as a forum for technical dialogue and innovation, promoting the exchange of knowledge among participants and strengthening international cooperation in the face of the challenges posed by the digital economy.
The event was part of the initiatives promoted by CIAT to support the modernization and digital transformation of its member countries, in line with the central theme of the 60th General Assembly: “Digital Transformation of Tax Administrations.”
