Arusha, Tanzania, October 9, 2026. The Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), represented by its executive secretary, Márcio F. Verdi, participated in the 46th Annual Meeting of Heads and Technical Conference of the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA), held October 5–9, 2026, in Arusha, Tanzania.

Under the theme “Harnessing Technology for Efficient Tax Collection,” the conference brought together officials and experts from tax administrations to exchange experiences and analyze the role of technology in modernizing tax systems, strengthening compliance, and improving tax collection.

During the meeting, the General Assembly of the Network of Tax Organizations (NTO)—of which CIAT is a member—was also held, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and collaboration among the organizations that make up this Network.

CIAT’s participation in these meetings contributes to the exchange of knowledge and best practices, as well as to the strengthening of cooperative ties with tax authorities and organizations in different regions.
