CIAT participated in the “Caribbean Tax Outreach 2026”
On February 4, 2026, the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) participated in the Caribbean Tax Outreach 2026 virtual workshop, organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), in collaboration with CARICOM/COTA, CATA, IMF/CARTAC, and the World Bank.
The event brought together representatives from 19 Caribbean jurisdictions with the aim of exchanging experiences and approaches in the areas of tax education, tax ethics, and strengthening voluntary compliance.
In this space, CIAT was represented by Alejandro Juárez Espíndola, Director of Human Talent Development at AATT, who presented a summary of the main Latin American experiences in tax education, highlighting the evolution of national programs, the use of digital and communication tools, and the consolidation of initiatives that strengthen the relationship between citizens and the Tax Administration.
Mr. Alejandro also highlighted CIAT’s role in the region, emphasizing its work in specialized research, technical cooperation with tax administrations, and its active participation in international networks that promote tax education as a strategic public policy.
CIAT reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting Caribbean and Latin American countries in the design and implementation of modern, inclusive, and sustainable initiatives that contribute to strengthening public confidence and tax citizenship.
