During the first week of December the International Taxation and Cooperation Directorate of CIAT participated in a technical assistance project organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) for over 30 participants from various units within the Ministry of Finance and Tax Administration of the Dominican Republic (DGII). The initiative focused on knowledge building related to the Model Double Taxation Convention between Developed and Developing Countries, with particular emphasis on the changes introduced in the 2021 update to address service transactions.

The training was held in the Dominican Republic from December 1–5, 2025, and was delivered by experts from UNDESA, CIAT, Mexico, and Uruguay. CIAT expresses its appreciation to UNDESA for the trust placed in the organization and to the Government of the Dominican Republic for its warm hospitality.
