Alain Cuenca
General Director of the Institute of Fiscal Studies of the Spanish Ministry of Finance since July 2018. Previously he was Full Professor of Public Economics at the University of Alcalá (2017-2018) and Professor at the University of Zaragoza (1988-1999 and 2012- 2017).
He has been Director General of Economics in the Government of Aragon (1999-2004); Director General of Financial Coordination with Local Entities (2005-2008) and with the Autonomous Communities (2008-2011) in the Ministry of Economy and Finance. He was Director of Public Economics at FUNCAS (2012-2014).
He has published articles in national and international journals on efficiency in public administrations, welfare state, defense economics, tax federalism and public finance.
