Ángel Cuevas Galindo

Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Universidad Carlos III of Madrid, a Master of Science (MSc) in Research in Economics from the National Distance Education University (UNED), and a Ph.D. in Economics from the National Distance Education University (UNED). Member of the Senior Corps of State Statisticians.

Has more than 20 years of experience in the development and design of econometric models for forecasting and simulation of macroeconomic and fiscal variables. Examples include dynamic factor models, BVAR models, ECM models, microsimulation models, panel data models, and scoring models.

Currently serves as Head of Unit in the Studies and Statistics Department of the Spanish State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT). He has also held various managerial and technical positions at the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF), the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Industry, and the National Statistics Institute.

In the academic field, he is a tutor for the module on Estimation of Tax Expenditures in the Course on Tax Revenue Estimation of the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT). In addition, he has authored several publications in national and international academic journals.
