Strategic Plan
The term of CIAT’s current Strategic Plan concludes on 30 June 2010. The Executive Secretariat, pursuant to the mandate established by the Executive Council on 20 July 2009, endorsed the strategic planning process for 2010 – 2013. Pursuant to the abovementioned mandate, and to prepare this Strategic Plan, all CIAT member countries and associate member countries were inquired. A Working Group formed by the member countries of the different regions was commissioned for this purpose and the members used the 2007-2010 Strategic Plan as a base as well as the contributions received by the countries, and a proposal was submitted to the Executive Council for its discussion and later to the 44th General Assembly, for its consideration and definite approval. The preparation of the 2010-2013 Strategic Plan proposes new succinct definitions of CIAT’s “vision” and “mission,” and incorporates a new section into the context in which CIAT must carry out its future actions, and the Strategic Directions and Initiatives are ordered systematically.
